Proven Approaches

For more than 25 years, the Center has assisted justice systems in every state, as well as hundreds of counties, regions, and tribal communities, through a wide range of services including:

  • Fostering collaboration by assisting agencies with forging meaningful and sustainable partnerships across organizational lines;
  • Facilitating system changes by providing strategic planning and targeted technical assistance;
  • Assisting with the application of new perspectives, knowledge, and skills to agencies by synthesizing contemporary research and practice literature, coaching policymakers in its application to agency and system-wide practice, and designing and conducting individualized trainings for agency staff at all levels;
  • Disseminating information by developing written, video, and web-based policy and practice documents; and
  • Providing guidance about the management of special offender populations by delivering services to assist agencies with developing specialized, tailored, and informed policies and practices for sex offenders, probation and parole violators, women offenders, and youthful offenders.

In essence, the Center supports the integration of innovative criminal and juvenile justice philosophies and practices into the daily work of policymakers and practitioners.
